Using a fabric first approach we can embed sustainability within the construction. This includes looking at the life cycle of the materials, improving the quality of the insulation and designing with solar gain or heat loss in mind. So, what does this look like within your home design? It can be as simple as increasing the size of the cavity in your external walls to allow for more insulation. Designing large windows to the East, so the property warms in the morning and maintains this heat throughout the day, whilst avoiding midday overheating.
